Thursday January 12 and I am finally here writing again. This is our first full week back at work for 2012 and I am excited by the plan we have in place. We had an all-team meeting yesterday to layout where we are heading and it all looks good.
Kim and I can't believe we have been at it 7 years. So much has been achieved and yet there is so much more we want to do. We can't wait!
We finished 2011 as we do each year back in Sydney. While the weather wasn't fabulous early on it was great to get back and see family and friends. The cricket was a highlight as usual and Fynn and I got the chance to go and see day one of the New Years Day test, Australia vs. India.
Harper got fully into Christmas party mode with his outfit below, a full day ahead of Christmas:
And the sunsets were always a sight to behold:
Very sadly while we were in Sydney, we got word that our 13 year old dog Mohican had taken a turn for the worse. Kim jumped on a plane and rushed home to spend a few final hours with him before he headed over the rainbow to that dog park in the sky. We miss him terribly. Our Aussie neighbor who is also a vet - Maree and her husband Rob were incredible, having Mohi stay at their house rather than in a hospital.
Clive, a local down at Bondi was giving away puppies back in 1998 on the beach with the proviso that owners had to work from home so the pups wouldn't be stuck at home alone. Mohi was the last of 12 and one of only two who had a permanent ridge of hair on his back (like a mohawk - thus the "last of the Mohicans"). He was there before we got married, when both our sons were born at home and moved to the US with us in 2004. He was a real mascot for the company and is now our Guardian Angel. He will be missed.
