I love their (our) Declaration of Interdependence:
We took a break from our day here in NYC and went to see Jon Stewart's The Daily Show. It is one of the few shows I watch and I just love it. We had great seats and it was fun to see the behind-the-scenes of the show. They put a ton of work into getting the audience - 200 or so people - fired up before Jon arrives. He does a Q&A which was great and then off he goes. Interestingly he is working right up to the death before going to air. Will Ferrell was his guest. He is promoting his new movie - one that is not a comedy. In Jon's opening he mentioned a ludicrous piece of legislation involving gay hate speech described by the Governor of the particualr state with a baseball bat simulating sex. Will Ferrell had no hesitation picking the ball up and running with it. He arrived on stage with a baseball bat and the two of them went hard at that joke for pretty much the whole time. I have no idea what the name of the move was but who cares? It was hilarious. Well, one person cared. The publicists for the movie was right there and there was much debate about a re-do. They ultimately didn't do it which was fine. The level of improv was quite amazing to witness. Very funny people.
NY city never fails to deliver. We couldn't live here but coming here twice a year, we have found some really magical places in the city. Yesterday we had a little window between meetings and needed a feed. We grabbed sandwiches and found this oasis in the glorius 70 degree midday sun. Beautiful amongst the hussle and bussle.
2011 has been a big year for our little company with more new product launches than ever. Yesterday we launched gCloth liners to make cloth diapering that much easier.
What I really like about this product is when we took a look at what was currently available, we wanted to make something that was flushable by design and we wanted to fix what was a pretty big flaw in packaging. Other liners come in a toilet roll making it incredibly hard to use - you are holding your baby with one hand, the roll with another and then you somehow have to tear off a liner with your third hand?
So the packaging here is pretty innovative - a solid square with a wide top opening, a pick point right where you need it and no need to grow a third arm!
