Oh how I love this 14km race from downtown Sydney to our place in Bondi. I ran my first one at 8. My Mum dropped me off at the start but then thinking I might disappear forever ran with me until the end. (and then got a taxi back into town to pick up her car - god bless her!)
The race is in it's 40th year (like me!) and today a record 80,000 runners are out there, making it the biggest race in the world. The trick is to know that after a steady climb up the "esses" in Rose Bay, there's still half a race left to run.
